10 Reasons Why Marijuana Should Be Legalized Worldwide

Updated: May 11, 2020

To legalize or not to legalize marijuana (cannabis) has been a debate not only for years and decades but for centuries. In fact, regulations on the sale of marijuana began in the early 16th century. Although the world has made many changes since that time, it is still a global national legal debate.

What makes it complicated is that some states have made it legal while others still do not. Some states or countries want to legalize it for medical use, others for personal use. Yet others feel the need that it should be legalized without restrictions. Here are some reasons that show why marijuana should be legalized.

For years, marijuana has been successfully used to help people with serious health problems, especially cancer patients. These patients could not travel to states where it was legal and thus obtain their treatment to make their lives more pleasant and allow them to feel better. Because of the shots associated with marijuana, many sick patients are afraid of marijuana. In addition, legalizing marijuana would allow patients to access treatment without taking risks for medical purposes. Marijuana has already proven to be effective for health on more than one cancer patient.

If a person lives in a state where marijuana is legal for medical or personal use, they are not likely to be arrested, but not when they are traveling to another state. Legalizing marijuana would make traveling with cannabis in your possession safer and stress-free.

While alcohol and prescription drugs are responsible for nearly 200,000 deaths a year, marijuana is safe and won't kill you. Before marijuana is dangerous, a person should consume more than is possible.

Marijuana is used by more than 25 million people annually, and the number continues to grow each year, particularly among adolescents and young adults. While it is illegal to buy marijuana, teens have access to drugs that are still illegal but much more dangerous. Legalizing marijuana would eliminate the problems associated with this danger.

Thousands of people are arrested every day for using or possessing marijuana, which results in the cost of justice. Legalizing marijuana would eliminate these expenses and allow the courts to focus on more serious legal issues.

Fewer overcrowded prisons, with so many arrests and incarcerations due to marijuana, our prisons are full. Feeding these prisoners costs the taxpayer a lot of money. In addition, funds are always requested to build larger prisons to accommodate these prisoners.

Whether for cities, states, or countries, income is always important. Marijuana is the nation's most important crop, therefore legalizing marijuana can create more jobs in the region or the country. More jobs equal more income, which is necessary to help our economy. Just think of the taxes that can be charged on the sale of marijuana. This type of income could help pay for government programs. Legalizing marijuana will increase your country's income which will help the people.

A form of marijuana known as hemp can be used for various functions such as making materials, such as rope or even animal sheets. The use of hemp is endless.

Hemp seeds are highly nutritious and rich in omega 3, calcium, and iron. Hemp is used in many foods, including salad dressing, energy bars, and crisps.

Hemp can also be used in hygiene products and in certain body lotions, shampoos, creams, and soaps. The oils in these products are not only good for the skin but can also prevent heart problems.

Unlike other crops that require fertilizers and fertilizers, hemp requires very little fertilizer and fertilizers. It is pest-resistant, which means that there will be no dangerous insecticides that will go into the soil, which is good for the environment. In fact, in some areas hemp is used to clean the floor.
